Host the powerup girls for life program free of charge!

Using our grant funding, our goal is to serve as many Weld County, Colorado 5th and 6th grade girls as possible in 2019. Your after-school program, youth organization or girls’ club can help by partnering with us to host a packaged, user-friendly PowerUp Girls for Life program for free.

Built in flexibility makes hosting work for you and the girls you serve:

  • Number of participants: from 10 to 100

  • Age of participants: although designed for 5th and 6th graders, material is empowering and appropriate up to 14 year olds (contact us for details)

  • Choice of program schedule formats to fit classroom or club use:

    • Twenty-eight 30-minute sessions

    • Twelve 1-hour sessions

    • Six 2-hour sessions

    • Four 3-hour morning or afternoon sessions

    • Or whatever works for your organization!

  • Option of using college or graduate student lead facilitators as available through the Youth Empowerment Group

  • Option of collaborating with other schools or organizations to co-host the program

As a program host, you would provide:

  • A large room with tables, chairs, screen, projector, audio, computer (if you don’t have adequate physical space, we’ll help you find a venue)

  • Parent and student outreach to promote registrations on our website or on papers provided by us

  • Staff, college interns, or volunteers to coordinate and run program (at least two for even a small group is recommended)

Youth Empowerment Group provides:

  • Everything else!

  • All necessary funding including venue costs

  • PowerUp t-shirts and PowerUp Toolboxes of life skill cards for girls

  • Program materials: planning timeline and checklist, overview of topics, recorded presentations, activity materials and instructions, table top set-ups

  • Online or paper student registration including consent

  • Online training modules

  • Female small group leaders as available

  • Promotional materials such as flyers, social media

  • Advice and support throughout
